Quick Holiday Hits

1. Get a dedicated e-reader, the amazing new Kobo Mini, for just $50 this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
2. If you’re getting a tablet this Christmas, don’t forget you can buy e-books from anyone … including Destinations Booksellers. Ask me how it works or come down for a demonstration.
3. Yes, we’re open all weekend, Sunday included.
4. Yes, we’re still taking orders for delivery as late as Christmas Eve, but Thursday morning might be the last chance. I don’t know if I’ll be making an order on Friday for Monday delivery or not.
5. We’re open Christmas Eve from 10 a.m. until the last customer is taken care of. That should be until at least 4 p.m., so get last-minute gifts, stocking stuffers, games for the big day, or pick up your pending orders just in time for your get-together.
6. We recently were allowed to begin selling the official Bicentennial coffee table book, Historic New Albany: By the River’s Edge. We apologize to all of you who sought it here in the past 2 months, but that was something completely out of our hands until now. Your area’s only full-service bookstore is now selling the most sought-after book of the season. It’s $40.
7. Don’t assume we’re out of that book you need or want. Just today we got books in that nobody thought would be available, including Young House Love, Distinctive Houses of Louisville, and Rising From the Ashes, the new IU basketball book.
8. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and yours and thank you for making 2012 such a pleasant experience for Ann and me. Hope you have a great new year and remember … put your money where your house is: Buy from Locally owned, independent businesses in 2013 to make your community stronger.
