It’s an open secret, but we’re doing a radical reimaging of the store – making it the store New Albany wants, just as we’ve tried to do every year since we opened in 1804…er, 2004.
By the time the City of New Albany celebrates its bicentennial in 2016, maybe we’ll have it the way you want it.
Accordingly, we have put hundreds of books on sale at 50% off. No catches, no gimmicks. And each day, we’re adding more books to the sale, so dropping in just once may not be enough.
Right now, we have hundreds of novels, books on faith, and sports books on sale. Plus many, many more categories. This is an event you will not want to miss, I’m telling you.
Because this is an ongoing process, feel free to approach me with books that have not (yet?) been put on sale and make me an offer. This is something I’ve always wanted to do, but if you don’t come down, nobody wins and our reimaging is delayed.
We’re still open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and we’ll be participating along with other New Albany merchants in this weekend’s big promotions. The only difference? Ours keeps going next week, too.
Thank you to all of you who have found Destinations Booksellers local value to be an inestimable contribution to this region’s marketplace, we marked our most profitable year in 2011, despite the ravages of bridge closures and a timid recovery from the Great Recession. We’ll still be here when the economy recovers.
And thanks, too, to all the new folks who’ve discovered this little gem of a bookstore during the past year. We hope to continue to earn your confidence and your patronage.
